On October 11th, the Laredo Economic Development Corporation held a proclamation ceremony where Mayor Victor D. Treviño recognized Laredo EDC 2024 Economic Development Industry Award (EDI’s) Honorees.
Representing this year’s honorees were Kyle Morgan representing Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railway, Jose Ceballos and Ben Puig, representing Fasken Oil and Ranch, Ltd., and Jessica Contreras, representing the Office of Senator Zaffirini.
The 2024 EDI honorees are:
Dean Senator Judith Zaffirini, PhD. – Lifetime Achievement Award in Economic Development – Recognized for her decades-long commitment to the economic development of Laredo and beyond, Dean Senator Zaffirini has played a pivotal role in shaping policies that foster growth and opportunity in the region.
Fasken Oil and Ranch, Ltd. – Real Estate Development Award – Fasken Oil and Ranch is honored for their exceptional success in real estate development, which has spurred economic activity and created a lasting impact within the local economy.
CPKC Railway International Bridge Expansion – Project of the Year – The CPKC Railway International Bridge Expansion is recognized for its transformative impact on cross-border trade and infrastructure, significantly enhancing connectivity and economic potential for the region.
