City announced Federal funding for the airport

September 17- City of Laredo officials announced Federal funding for $7,222,563 to be used as economic relief for the airport and its concessions. With this money the airport will also be able to take on the added cost for COVID-19 mitigation protocols.

Laredo has experienced exponential economic growth in the last decade which would not be possible without the Laredo International Airport (LRD).

Jeffrey Miller, the Laredo International Airport Director, and his staff, have done a wonderful job managing the airport into the top of the rankings for airports in the region. The airport ranked 8th in the state of Texas in cargo flights in 2020, it is also at the top of the rankings for overall enplanements.
