The Laredo EDC hosted an array of events nationally recognized as Economic Development Week from May 9 to May 13, 2022.
To kick off the celebration on May 9th, City of Laredo Mayor Pro Tempore, Council Member District II Vidal Rodriguez proclaimed National Economic Development Week, in partnership with Laredo Economic Development Corporation, Laredo College, and the City of Laredo Economic Development Departments.
On Tuesday, May 10th, LEDC continued with the “State of Transportation and Infrastructure” presentation by Humberto “Tito” Gonzalez Jr, P.E, MBA, TxDOT Deputy District Engineer, and Jed A. Brown, Chairman Webb County – City of Laredo Regional Mobility Authority. The event was sponsored by AEP Texas and Laredo College.
Continuing with the calendar of events, on Wednesday, May 11th, MileOne IBAC hosted the “Women Entrepreneurs Rock Series 2022″, Access to Capital paneled by Rosana Gomez, UTSA Covid-19 Business Resilience Center Project Manager, Cindy Solano, SBA Lead Leader Relationship Specialist, and Martha Victoria Valdez, People Fun Program Coordinator, followed by a very special award presentation to Amber Avis-Hinojosa (Ambitious Management), Motivator of the Year, Gabriela de Hoyos (DeHoyos Signs), Small Business of the Year, and Edgar I. Escamilla (You first Advisers), Entrepreneur of the Year and the event was sponsored by PNC Bank.
On Thursday, in a more relaxing atmosphere with delicious food, refreshing drinks, and great company, the LEDC hosted the “Spring Membership Mixer” at La Posada Hotel sponsored by RE/MAX.
On Friday, the Laredo EDC & MileOne IBAC completed the Economic Development Week with the Shop Local Initiative highlighting the downtown Outlet Shoppes with $50 gift cards and 5 amazing prizes donated by the Outlet Shoppes at Laredo.
