Gene Lindgren, LEDC President & CEO, participated as a special guest at the main table for an event hosted by TAMIU featuring Lic. Ildefonso Guarjardo Villarreal, former secretary of the economy of Mexico. 

The title of the presentation was Future Strategies for Resiliency of Foreign Trade in North America and Lic. Guardardo provided his perspective that included the history of diplomatic relations between Mexico and the U.S. prior to NAFTA, the impact of NAFTA, the political dynamics across our federal governments’ administrations, and observations of the first two years under USMCA. Also included in the presentation were comments related to current global events and the high level of risk associated with U.S.-China trade relations and the conflict in Ukraine.
