MileOne hosted this year’s International Women’s Day event, an event aimed at celebrating and empowering women.
The event featured a discussion panel of three local female entrepreneurs who spoke about their experiences, unique insights, and journey of starting, growing, and running a small business in the community. The panelists included Dr. Georgette Rangel, owner of Honey by Nurse Jett, Angelica Granados, director of Stepping Stones Childcare and Learning Center, and Jennifer Cantu, owner of Gloria’s Coffee Bar.
Dr. Georgette Rangel shared her experience of transitioning from nursing to entrepreneurship and how her passion for aesthetics and wellness led her to amass over 4,000 clients.
Angelica Granados described how after 15 years of working in early childhood development, she followed her dream of establishing a childcare center that focuses on providing affordable and quality child care.
Jennifer Cantu spoke about how her love for coffee and her Mexican culture inspired her to open her own coffee shop, which has now become a local staple in the community.
In addition, there was a vendor market where small businesses owned by women displayed and sold their products. The event attendees were eager to learn from the panel of successful entrepreneurs and network with other like-minded individuals.
