From 23rd to May 25th The LEDC was honored to collaborate with the Municipality of Nuevo Laredo and the City of Laredo as co-hosts for distinguished guests from the State of Jalisco for their Commercial Business Mission to the Laredo Region. Binational government and business leaders from the Laredo Region rolled out the red carpet for a large delegation from the state of Jalisco across a three-day visit to our border community. The delegation, led by Secretary of Economic Development for the State of Jalisco, Luis Roberto Arechederra, attended receptions, business meetings, and city tours in Nuevo Laredo and Laredo, Texas.
The goals of the visit were to share information, develop relationships, and explore opportunities that can lead to key alliances and mutual benefits. The entire week of events once again demonstrated how our community works closely between the public and private sectors on both sides of the border to keep moving forward to stay in front of economic development opportunities. The Jalisco delegation consisted of government leaders, investors, trade organizations, and business owners, and we stressed our region’s advantages for business investments.
Our community has available land ready for new businesses, a young and talented workforce, great educational institutions, and a pro-business climate. Would like to give special thanks to economic development partners, City of Laredo Economic Development Director Miriam Castillo, and to the Secretary of Economic Development in Nuevo Laredo Lic. Rolando Guevara for an outstanding week of events that will certainly lead to investment and employment opportunities for Region Laredo.
