Gene Lindgren, LEDC President & CEO, was honored to be cordially invited on behalf of the Consulate-General of Japan in Houston for a reception on the occasion of the Select Texas Mission of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
The Consulate hosted the event, in collaboration with the Texas Department on Economic Development & Tourism and JETRO Houston, and included a 40-member delegation consisting of around 30 representatives of various Japanese companies and 10 Japanese government officials, including those from JETRO and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).
The event allowed for dozens of one-on-one conversations and exchange of information about the advantages of our business community that could be mutually beneficial to the economic development of Laredo and for the Japanese companies involved. Shown in the picture are Larry McManus, Director of Business and Community Development for the State of Texas Economic Development and Tourism Office, Hirofumi Murabayashi, Consul General of Japan in Houston, Adriana Cruz, Executive Director for the State of Texas Economic Development and Tourism Office, Ichiro Sone, Executive VP of JETRO, and Gene Lindgren. Consul General Murabayashi was a distinguished guest speaker for LEDC’s 2022 Pathways for Trade Symposium.
