Laredo EDC Honors Dennis Nixon as Lifetime Director

LAREDO, TEXAS (December 4, 2020)—The Laredo Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) recognized Dennis Nixon, Chairman, and CEO, International Bank of Commerce, as a Lifetime Director with the LEDC. 

Nixon’s recognition was announced during the LEDC’s 27th annual Pathways for Trade Symposium and the formal presentation was made at the IBC headquarters in Laredo on Friday. Nixon was the opening and keynote speaker at the symposium, held online this week. The symposium is an annual economic development event hosted by the LEDC that informs and educates the North American business community on international trade issues that affect Los Dos Laredos. 

Gene Lindgren, President/CEO, and Tony Arce, Jr., Chairman of the Board, LEDC presented Nixon with an honorary plaque in recognition of his selection as a Lifetime Director. 

“Dennis Nixon is a Past President and Board Member of the LEDC (former LDF) and he continues participating in key roles that strengthen the economic health of our community, said Tony Arce, Jr., Chairman of the Board, LEDC. The LEDC Board is excited to honor him as a Lifetime Director.” 

“Lifetime Directors are selected by the LEDC Board and signify an individual’s leadership for economic and business development initiatives in Laredo, Webb County, and Nuevo Laredo, said Gene Lindgren, President/CEO, LEDC. We thank him for his support of the LEDC and his service to the business community.

“ After receiving the award recognition plaque, Mr. Nixon stated “our city’s economic development must be at the forefront of every institution that serves this community. I am proud to accept this award personally and for our company’s commitment to doing more for the growth and prosperity of Laredo.”
