November 26- In a continued effort to strengthen economic collaboration and cross-border initiatives, newly appointed Laredo EDC President and CEO David Stedman and Vice President of International Business Recruitment Rey Reyes, visited Nuevo Laredo, engaging with key stakeholders to discuss infrastructure, innovation, and trade opportunities.
The visit commenced with a welcome by Lic. Rolando Martin Guevara Gonzalez, Economic Development Secretary from Nuevo Laredo, and Ing. Adolfo Tena, Director of Industrial Development and Foreign Trade. Together, they toured the Antiguo Banco Longoria, now home to the Nuevo Laredo Historic Center Office. This historic landmark, which will celebrate its centennial in 2029, symbolizes the region’s rich heritage and economic legacy.
Stedman participated in a windshield tour of the Agencia Nacional de Aduanas de México (ANAM), set to be inaugurated in Q2 of 2025 by President Claudia Sheinbaum. Additional stops included the Centro Cultural de Nuevo Laredo and the Ciudad Deportiva, showcasing Nuevo Laredo’s cultural and recreational assets.
The tour also featured site visits to key industrial and logistics facilities. At Medline Industries, discussions focused on the company’s future expansions and strategic investments in Nuevo Laredo and Laredo, Texas. At Grupo Cargoquin and 3PL Services, led by Fernando Salgado, Manager of Strategic Accounts, Stedman explored technological advancements and innovations to improve cross border trade and make our border region more secure.
The day concluded with a meeting at the Asociación de Agentes Aduanales de Nuevo Laredo (AAANLD), where Stedman was welcomed by A.A. Montes Silva, Vice President, A.A. Kalish Alonso, Treasurer, and A.A. Elia Guevara Echartea, Vice President of the Association of Logistics & Forwarding Agents, Inc. Conversations centered on fostering a unified regional approach to maintaining the region’s dominance as North America’s leading International Trade and Logistics Hub. Topics included infrastructure, technology, and security enhancements to ensure continued growth and competitiveness.
