LEDC Presentation at the US Mexico Chamber of Commerce and the Traffic Club of Chicago

The Laredo EDC President & CEO was recently invited to participate in an event hosted by the US-Mexico Chamber of Commerce and the Traffic Club of Chicago.

The sold-out event included over 100 attendees from local and national business leaders along with Consul Generals of Mexico and Canada. Mr. Lindgren shared a panel, moderated by Ralph Biedermann of the US-Mexico Chamber of Commerce, with his northern border colleague Laurie Tannous, President of the Canada-United States Business Association, who presented information about US trade with Canada.

Mr. Lindgren shared the history of Laredo’s trade and bridges and the current global trade dynamics driving the need for 4 more bridges in Laredo. Canadian Pacific Kansas City will finish its rail bridge expansion in Laredo this year, and the World Trade and Columbia bridges will be expanded in the coming years. A South Laredo bridge is in the planning phases, and finally, he shared perspectives on why Laredo is now the No. 1 port in the country.
