Recently, Home Goods, At Home, DD’s Discount (2nd location), Ross Dress for Less (3rd location) and Burlington (2nd location) have recently opened up. These stores along with all the other retail stores are continually trying to attract the visitors from Monterrey and Mexico City. Daily, thousands of visitors from Mexico flock to Laredo to buy clothing and electronics and half the price of what it would cost them in Mexico.
The Port of Laredo is the number 1 inland port along the US-Mexico border crossing over $206 billion in imports and exports in 2020. With IH-35 bisecting the city, all the industrial parks and logistical centers are within 5 miles.

The annual Pathways for Trade Symposium is brought through a collaboration of business associations. This signature event focuses on issues and policies that impact the U.S., Mexico and Canada and industries like transportation, manufacturing, energy, workforce and more.
Last year, due to the pandemic and for the first time the Annual Symposium “Leveraging Change” was hosted online. We look forward to see you this year for another virtual event on September 15, 2021.

The Laredo EDC created the Economic Development Industry (EDI) Award to recognize industries that contribute to the economic well-being of the Laredo and Webb County region.
The EDI recognition compliments the mission of the Laredo EDC to promote and foster the economic and industrial development of the Laredo region.

This annual event recognizes the industry for its commitment and contribution towards the economic development and growth of our region.

The LEDC provides community data and economic indicators for business prospects and investors, site selection services, assistance with and screening for incentives from the City, County, and State, and research information requested by clients.
